Balti Chicken

Ingredients

Chicken (cut into 16 pieces) 1 kg
Tomato finely chopped 1
Onion sliced 2
Whole red chilies 8
Oil ½ cup
Chili powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp heaped
Onion seeds 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Turmeric ¼ tsp
Yogurt whipped 3 tbsp
Coriander leaves 2 tbsp

Method

Heat ½ cup oil, fry 2 sliced onion till transparent, add 1 tsp onion seeds, 8 whole red chilies, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 minute, add 1 chopped tomato with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp chili powder and ¼ tsp turmeric, add 1 kg chicken and fry well, then add ½ cup water, cover and cook for 10 minutes, add 3 tbsp yogurt, cover and cook till chicken is done and oil comes on top. Garnish with 2 tbsp coriander leaves.
