Basil Fried Rice

BSFR Basil Fried Rice


The recipe makes 2 servings.

3 cup of steamed jasmine rice

1 cup of ground chicken

½ cup of chopped green beans

¼ cup of mushrooms (cut in quarters)

¼ cup of sliced onions

30 Thai basil leaves

¼ cup of scallion (cut into 2 inch pieces)

¼ cup of red bell peppers

5 chopped fresh chili

2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

1 teaspoon of pepper

1 tablespoon of thin soy sauce

1 tablespoon of seasoning sauce

1 teaspoon of black soy sauce

1 teaspoon of sugar

¼ of 1 lime

Cilantro leaves

4 Sliced Cucumbers (for decoration)

1 tomato (cut for decoration)

Fish Sauce Ingredients

1 chopped fresh chili

1 tablespoon of fish sauce

Basil Fried Rice Directions

• Add the vegetable oil to the wok on medium heat. Put in the chopped garlic, onion and chili, then sauté about 1 minute.

• Add ground chicken in the wok and stir fry until the meat is cooked.

• Add the green beans and bell peppers, then stir for 1 minute. Put in the steamed rice and keep stirring.

• Season with soy sauce, black soy sauce, seasoning sauce and sugar, stir well until the mixture is blended together

• Add the mushrooms, scallions and basil while stirring quickly.

• Remove from the stove and place the rice on a plate. Add the sliced tomato, sliced cucumber and lime on the side of the plate.

• Sprinkle with cilantro leaves on the top. Serve hot with fish sauce and chopped chili.
