Your feet take a beating every day; in your work shoes, exercise shoes, high heels and perhaps in tight ski boots, roller blades or ice skates. All the wear and tear can create rough, cracked heals and calluses on the balls of your feet. A nice foot soak in combination with a foot scrub will soak away your aches and pains and leave you with soft, supple feet. There’s no need to go to a spa or pedicurist. You can make foot soaks and foot scrubs at home.

You Will Need the Following Items
Large foot bath or pan
Warm water
Epsom salts
Essential oils
Stones or marbles
1/4 cup coarse salt
1/4 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup cornmeal
2 tbsp. Aloe Vera gel
1/4 cup unscented body lotion

Small bowl or container
2 plastic bags that will fit over each foot

Make a Homemade Foot Soak
Make a delightful foot soak with essential oils of your choice. Some of these include lavender, rosewood, geranium, lime spearmint or sandlewood.

Fill a large foot bath or pan with warm water to a height that will cover your ankles.

Place a few smooth stones or marbles in the bottom of the foot bath;you can roll your feet over to massage them.

Place two to three drops of your chosen essential oil into the water bath. Add 1/2 cup for a foot bath of Epsom salts to sooth the muscles in your feet and increase relaxation.

Now sit back, relax, put your feet in the foot bath and roll your feet and toes over the marbles.

Make a Homemade Foot Scrub
Soften your feet and remove dead skin from your feet with a homemade foot scrub.

Combine the following ingredients in a medium-sized bowl:
1/4 cup coarse salt, 1/4 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup cornmeal, 2 tbsp. Aloe Vera gel, and 1/4 cup unscented body lotion.

Mix the ingredients together well to form a thick paste.

Put the past on your feet, all the way from your toes to your ankles, including the skin on the top of your feet. Scrub your feet, toes and ankles to remove dead skin and calluses. Also scrub between your toes.

Rinse your feet and ankles well and dry your feet well with a clean towel.

Make a Homemade Moisturizing Treatment
Moisturize your feet with a homemade moisturizing treatment.

In a small bowl mix: 4 tbsp. of almond oil, 4 tsp. of cocoa butter, oil from 4 Vitamin E capsules (poke the capsules with a pin and squeeze out the oil).

Slather the moisturizing treatment on your feet. Put on a pair of clean, white socks, cover the socks with plastic bags, and a secure them to your ankles with the elastic bands.

Fill a foot bath with warm water. Place your feet (covered with the plastic bags) into the warm water for about 15 minutes so the moisturizing treatment soaks into your feet.

Remove your feet from the bath, take off the plastic bags and socks and enjoy your smooth, supple feet.
