In today’s section of 5 minutes hairstyles, you will learn how to do the French Y-braid chignon in just 5 minutes. Choosing the right hairstyle for a certain occasion is ever so difficult. Getting the right hairstyle in just 5 minutes is what most women desire. Braids are preferred by women with long hair but at times long haired women feel that they don’t have many hairdos to choose from. Well I have a perfect solution which will help not just the women long hair but the women with short hair too. How to braid your hair is simply easy and once you know how to braid then you can have a number of different looks that can be easily achieved with braiding. This French Y-Braid chignon is one of the easiest and cutest hairstyles you can do in just 5 minutes. I have used the French braid technique to create a visually interesting hairstyle with a simple finish.

Start this process with a clean shampooed and dried hair. To provide some structure and grip to the hair, you can also blow dry your using styling gel. Use hair serum for added smoothness and shine. Part your hair from the center of the head and tie the left side of your hair with a hair band. French braid the right side of the hair; make sure that you keep the braid low on the side of the head, from the forehead to the nape of the neck and a little beyond. Secure it with a hair band.

Repeat the same process on the left side of the head. Do remember to concentrate a little more while braiding the left side for both the sides needs to look same.

Once the two sides are balanced and braided, pull the two braids together at the nape of the neck and remove the elastic bands. Comb the hair and blend it together and now divide it into three even strands. Weave the strands in a traditional 3-strand braid as far down the length of the hair as possible.

Bend the tail end of the braid with an elastic band and roll it under, make sure that you carefully tuck any stray hair back into the roll as the braid widens. Use two large bobby pins to tuck the rolled braid fully into the nape area of the neck, pins will help the rolled braid to stay in place. Place the pins together in such a way that they form an “X” in the chignon.

There you have a simple, easy and quick hair do that looks visually interesting. The style can also be decorated with jeweled pins, combs, flowers, ribbons, or other accessories if you want to wear this hairstyle on some formal occasion. Unadorned, the style would serve in almost any environment, from offices and other workplaces, to afternoon weddings and luncheons. This hairstyle can also serve as a bridal hairdo because the braids will be very helpful to secure a headpiece or the bridal veil.
