 Instant Rava Idli


Semolina 1 cup
Yogurt 1 cup
Green chilies 2 finely chopped
Curry leaves few
Salt 1 tsp
Coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tbsp
Fruit salt ½ tsp
Mustard seeds ¼ tsp
Oil 1 ½ tsp
Ingredients for Chutney
Green chilies 4
Ginger 2 inch piece
Yogurt ½ cup
Fresh coconut 1 ½ cup
Salt 1 tsp
Coriander leaves 1 tbsp
Roasted gram 3 tbsp
Ingredients for Baghar
Whole red chilies 2 crushed
Curry leaves few
Oil ¼ cup
Mustard seeds ¼ tsp


Dry roast 1 cup semolina in hot wok for 5 minutes cool completely add 1 cup yogurt to this to make a smooth paste if required add little water, heat 1 tsp oil add ¼ tsp mustard seeds, few curry leaves and 2 chopped green chilies to it. Put this baghar on semolina paste mix in 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp fruit salt, put mixture in well greased idli mold and steam over boiling water for 10 to 12 minutes. Take out from mold. Serve with coconut Chutney.

Method for Chutney

In a blender add 1 ½ cup fresh coconut, 4 green chilies, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp coriander leaves, 3 tbsp roasted gram, 2 inch piece of ginger and ½ cup yogurt, blend to a smooth Chutney. Remove in a bowl and give baghar.
