Italian Dough Recipe Step By Step Tutorial
Italian dough is a simple craft idea that even children enjoy.Most craft stores carry Italian craft dough, or you can make your own. The process is fairly simple and provides hours of entertainment.Italian craft dough can be cooked on stove as well as in microwave.In this tutorial i am cooking it on stove.
Follow the steps below for making a perfect Italian craft dough.
Cornflour – 1 cup
German white glue – 1 cup
Water – 1/4 cup
Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp
Glycerine – 1 tbsp
Aluminium / nonstick pan – 1
Wooden Spoon – 1
Petrolium jelly – As required
Plasic bag – 1
1- Pour all of the glue in a pan.
2- Now add whole cup of water in glue.
3- Mix well both glue and water in a way that there will be no lumps in the mixture and become homogenous.
4- Now start adding cornflour in installments and mix slighty with spoon in clockwise or anti clockwise direction.
5- After mixing whole cup of cornflour,now add freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix.
6- Add glycerine and mix well.
7- Keep on mixing all the mixture with wooden spoon (for atleast 15 mins) until it comes in running form like this,
8- Now keep the pan on stove for cooking dough.Cook on slow flame.Remember that flame will not touch the pan directly.Keep on stirring to avoid sticking the mixture with the pan.When it comes near to cook it will look like this,
9- Do not over cook otherwise it will become rubber and all your dough will get ruined.
10- When it will completely cooked and comes in a shape of ball,you’ll see its transparent from outside and milky color from inside and it will no longer stick to your pan.
11- Immediately take dough out of pan.
12- Greese a plastic bag with petrolium jelly and put cooked dough into it and knead well with your hands and palms.Use the cloth between your hands and bag as the dough is too hot.
13- Keep the dough into bag in open air until it will cool enough.
14- Knead the ball again in hands to make it more stable.
Your Italian dough is ready to use now.Mix colors and make flowers and jewelry of your choice.
Note: Always keep the dough in air tight plastic bag.You can use it for maximum 1 week.
