 Jalfrezi chicken by Chef Shireen Anwar


Boneless chicken (cut into 1 inch cubes) ½ kg
Capsicum (cut into small squares) 1
Onion (cut into small squares) 1
Egg 1
Tomatoes chopped 2
Green chilies chopped 4
Oil ½ cup
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Chili powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Chili sauce 2 tsp
Ketchup 2 tsp
Crushed black pepper ½ tsp
Coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp


Marinate ½ kg chicken cubes with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp chili powder, ½ tsp black pepper, 2 tsp chili sauce and 2 tsp ketchup for 30 minutes, heat oil in a wok, fry 1 tsp garlic paste with 2 chopped tomatoes for 5 minutes, add marinated chicken, cook till chicken is tender and oil comes on top, in a frying pan heat 2 tbsp oil, fry cubes of capsicum and onion for 2 minutes till soft, make omelet with 1 beaten egg, a pinch of salt and a pinch of black pepper, cut into tiny cubes, when chicken tender fold in the fried cubes of capsicum and onion along with chopped pieces of omelet, garnish with 2 tbsp chopped coriander and 4 green chilies. Serve hot.
