 Malai Koftay By Chef Rida Aftab

Ingredients
Mince ½ kg
Egg 1
Onion 2
Green chilies 4
Cream ½ cup
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Desiccated coconut 1 tbsp
Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
Chili powder 2 tsp
Roasted gram 4 tbsp
Oil as required
Ingredients for Gravy
Onion ground 250 gm
Yogurt 250 gm
Ghee ½ cup
Chili powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
All spice powder 1 tsp
Turmeric ½ tsp
Fenugreek seeds ½ tsp
Coriander leaves, green chilies and ginger juliennes for garnish
Salt to taste

Method
• In chopper put together ½ kg beef mince, 4 green chilies and 2 onions. Chopparize finely.
• Now add 1 egg, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp chili powder, 1 tbsp desiccated coconut and 1 tbsp poppy seeds. Mix well and make mince balls.
• Now deep fry on low flame till golden brown. Remove and keep aside.
• Heat a little oil in a pan, add ½ tsp fenugreek seeds and fry. Now add 250 gm ground onion and fry till light pink.
• Now add 1 tsp chili powder, ½ tsp turmeric and salt to taste. Also add 250 gm whipped yogurt, fry well till water dries.
• Add 1 cup water and cook for 10 minutes.
• Now dish it out, add fried mince balls, garnish with boiled egg cut into two pieces.
• Lastly garnish with coriander leaves, chopped green chilies and ginger juliennes. Sprinkle with 1 tsp all spice powder and ½ cup cream on top. Serve hot.
