Ingredients:

  • Meat ½ kg
  • Boiled gram lentil ½ cup
  • Ginger 1 piece
  • Garlic 6
  • Egg 1
  • Onion 1
  • Tomato 1
  • Large cardamom 2
  • Bread pieces 6
  • Whole red chilies 12
  • Fennel seeds 1 tsp
  • Whole coriander 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Whole black pepper 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Garlic sauce as required
  • Oil (for frying) as required

How to make Shami Sandwich by Rida Aftab

  • Cook ½ kg meat with 1 tsp whole black pepper, 1 tsp fennel seeds, 1 tsp whole coriander, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp cumin, 12 whole red chilies, 2 large cardamoms, 1 piece ginger, 6 garlic cloves and 2 glasses of water on low flame.
  • When the meat becomes tender add ½ cup boiled gram lentil and chopperize it.
  • Then add 1 egg and 1 tsp all spices powder and form into kababs. Fry in the required oil.
  • Now take 6 pieces of bread, spread with garlic sauce and put the kababs on it.
  • Now put the onions and tomatoes on it. Sandwich with another piece of bread.
  • Cut it from the middle.
  • Shami sandwich is ready to serve.
